Stop the Time, I Want to Get Off! (1999)

Stop the Time, I Want to Get Off! is quick bop throughout, with frequent interruptions of the meter.  The lines are generally busy and legato, with "be-bop" endings.  There are good parts for all, and the scoring is varied: some unison playing, some in harmony, some in a polyphonic mix.  The drummer keeps the hat going during some of the stopped measures, and in others adds fills.  Each solo improv begins with blues changes in stop time, and then continues in an uninterrupted Eb blues.  This section may be repeated as often as desired for each soloist, and can be varied in any way the group sees fit, with different players soloing and covering the changes.
